After a recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn, I scheduled an introductory call/phone interview to learn more about the position. This experience was very positive and I received feedback quickly that the hiring team wanted to schedule a virtual interview. During that interview, the hiring managers told me they would be communicative throughout the process and would have an update within the next week or two. They also asked that I complete a design assessment based on a sample brief, which caught me a little off guard as they had mentioned they were hiring for a mid to senior level role. After sending my completed design project, I did not hear back from anyone until the recruiter let me know they moved forward with another candidate a little over three weeks later. By that point I had already assumed as much due to the lack of communication.
