      Analyst Interview

      Interview

Extremely unprofessional. Told me a specific time to meet then when I sent my CV immediately cancelled it and said they'd get back to me. Obviously never did. Extremely clear that they only cared about the college I went to for any consideration at all (I went to a top 5 college) but upon seeing my resume decided to not even humor me with a chat. Would have loved a little more professionalism. Look elsewhere

      I interviewed at basys

      Interview

Extensive process: multiple interviews with (in order), the recruiter, hiring manager, and team members. The 2nd interview was with the hiring manager, whose enthusiastic approach really motivated me to move forward with the process. Prior to the 3rd interview, I was required to pass an online assessment that included solving algebraic equations, math reasoning questions, identifying synonyms for words outside of common vernacular, and analogy tests- reminded me of my high school SAT exam (I was a little puzzled about how the tests were relevant to the job I was applying for). Next was completing a job application, which requires acknowledgment to travel (specified in job post) and also willingness to work evenings & weekends as needed. The 3rd interview was with team members; they were very polite, yet from the onset I didn’t quite sense the level of enthusiasm I got from the hiring manager or the recruiter. Overall, I have no regrets in interviewing, but I wish the assessment came after all interviews, since it didn’t relate directly to the job requirements & was time consuming. Also, my perception following the interviews was that remote work (following Covid) may not be fully supported by senior management, and that this job is better suited for someone who lives within reasonable commute to the office. I applied for a business analyst position, but the team seemed less concerned around BA skill sets related to requirements elicitation/documentation & more focused on prior work experience as a configuration analyst (understandable, as it appears staff is responsible for training/mentoring). Happy to have made it as far as I did!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Most of the questions were related to details around my previous job experience. The most difficult question was around a hypothetical scenario relating to how I would speak to the basys system with various types of clientele, which was challenging to answer, not having had any training/experience with that system.
