The application was really smooth, the HR was really nice and super helpful. When I requested, I got my application moved faster, it went smooth and positive. I really liked the process.

Shortly after I submitted my application I received a call from a recruiter with some general questions about my CV, previous experience, aspirations etc. They sent me a Codility test with several easy to medium programming assignments. After that I was invited for an interview at their office in Utrecht. The interview included questions related to my previous experience, motivation to work for bol, pretty much a standard set of questions. Then, I was given another set of online tests and a technical assignment which I submitted before my second interview. The assignment was vague and it offered wiggle room to show off. The second interview was technical, but it did not get into much details. I have to admit I was a bit surprised because there were not questions related to details, but much broader ones (e.g. why did you choose this particular framework). In my experience bol.com has an excellent recruiting process. I received a phone call from the recruiter after every interview to ask me how it went. All interviewers were friendly and the talks were relaxed. Another thing that made a good impression on me is they were accurate and actually met all deadlines they set (as opposed to other companies that are constantly late with their replies).
