I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at eFuse (Columbus, OH) in Oct 2022
Interview
Everyone I spoke to was polite and respectful. The process itself began with a standard recruiter screen followed by a straightforward one hour technical interview. I was then send a "work sample" which consisted of building and hosting a fully containerized and tested RESTful API, NoSQL DB, and caching service with ten endpoints that cache GET results. The assignment isn't intellectually difficult, but it requires an outrageous amount of time and effort for the third step in a six step interview process. During the technical screen, the interviewer mentioned on two occasions that they are looking for "a certain caliber of engineer," and it's clear that what they're really testing the candidates for is lack of professional boundaries and willingness to be overworked.

Question 1
Standard CS trivia (PUT vs PATCH, merge vs rebase, SQL vs NoSQL). A few open-ended questions about debugging back-end systems and what kind of infrastructure you need to host a basic web app.

Interview
First it was call from recruiter. Second was a technical call from a data engineer/administrator/analyst. This made me realize even if i get hired as dba, I would be working as engineer or other data side too. Interviewer asked me about my experience with azure devops, cloud and general data questions. Later he mentioned he works after hours too, since its a startup. So i think Unlimited PTO isn’t entirely true. They invited me to Third step, assessment test, but after considering the workload and working after hours, I declined the offer.

Interview
Three rounds of interview with different higher-ups. One with HR, One with an owner, and one with a content manager. They were very conversational, and each seemed to get a feel for a different side of myself.
