I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at magicpin (Gurgaon, Haryana) in Oct 2019
Interview
I was getting call since last 3 months for interview, but problem was they schedule it on weekdays, so i somehow managed to get 1 day leave from my office to be interviewed at Magicpin. I went to their office at scheduled time .
To my surprise the office looks like an old call center office, they were hiring for field guys to lot of ppl showed up there, i guess i was only person there for Engineering role. There was no space to sit at the reception.
They kept me waiting for 1 hour to schedule my 1st interview after that other three rounds were one after another.
Interviewer took me to basement, he tried to get in few meeting room but all were occupied, floor was pretty old , noisy, and crowded.
After 1st round i have to shamefully ask interview is there any place where i can get water or coffee.
To my surprise they have only 1 coffee machine on a floor out for 4 floor building.
I did my second round and 3rd round with CTO.
Interviewers were polite, CTO was super talented and cool guy.
I was pretty confident to get an offer.
Only one round was left that was with hiring manager.
After spending around 4 hour at their office i went back to my home, HR told me that i will get a call next day for final round of discussion.
Next day i got a call from Hiring manager who happens to be from IIT.
He discussed about my current project and what role they are offering me.
It was a lead role that they were offering me.
I was sure to get a offer from them.
Then diwali came, i mailed HR 2-3 times she didn't bother to reply.
After diwali i called her she didn't receive my call.
Then i called the Employment agency and told them about the situation.
After 2 days HR did received my call and told me that she would let me know.
Its been 1 months but i haven;t heard from them.
P.S.: From the conversation with the Hiring Manager i was getting the idea that they want someone "Super Talented" from a "Tier 1 college" worked with "Top Teach company", "Knows all about tech" to work for this role at a pretty less "CTC."
I told hiring manger this is my current salary in Noida, i am moving to gurugram which is more expensive. We didn't discussed the numbers.
He told me at the stage (5 year of experience) you should look for kind of work and learning that we are offering you, forget about the finance.
So to sum it up, they have a poor building even call center have better work station than them, they want you to work hard for them as start ups do, but don't want you to expect good salary from them because "Hey, i am the hiring manager, and you should look the good work at this point of your career, forget about market standard salary or hike".
