      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at payever

      Interview

Stay away from payever. They want you to solve 3 codility tasks (which is OK) and after that there is so called 'trial day'. They open for you their source codes and want you to implement several small useful features and fix several bugs in their product. For free, of course. They expect you to waste a day on their hiring process but from their side they do not hesitate to make stupid mistakes, mislead you and after all provide absolutely no feedback. I asked them twice in advance if I need Jira task to commit my source changes when they are done. They answered 'no, you dont'. And, surprise surprise, gitlab kicked me off when I tried to push the git repo. And I waste my time again on fixing commit messages, when the task is created. They wanted me to create 'test account' in their backend deployment, but it does not work - backend just hangs on account creation. I ask them, they respond 'sorry pls use this one'. Some of bugs which test task supposes to fix do not reproduce. I ask them, no response at all. All the feedback they provided after I wasted my day was 'no usage of existing services. no typedefs.' Seriously? Damn, I have been working for years as a developer and of course I used existing services from their codebase. That is pre-defined feedback for all cases or what? They pretend to be advanced company and advertise everywhere that Microsoft invests or sponsors them. Nothing else to advertise I suppose.
