Overall interview was really strange pretty unprofessional and got an overall bad feeling about it. The CEO seems a bit off. He did most of the talking and didnt let me talk that much. Overall for this company steer clear. Also really read the reviews on this site they are very telling. Overall negative first impression from my side. The task they give you is a joke makey you think they don't know what they are doing at all. Seems like they should hire a consultant with the task they give you. Completely normal to have a task in a high level job in the interview process but this one was a complete joke and something a consultant would be doing. Overall thought this was a huge joke. Wasn't impressed at all and immediately knew would be a horrible place to work. Overall negative view of the company because of this.
I applied online. I interviewed at payever (Hamburg) in Nov 2021
Interview
I was first contacted on LinkedIn by a member of the HR team and applied for a position. I was then invited to a first introductory call with the HR manager which gave me an overview of the position and the company and gave me the possibility to understand whether my expectations actually match the position I applied for. I was then invited to a so called "trial day". The trial day included an office tour, a cognitive ability test, an extensive case study of several hours and a final presentation to the founders. The entire process from first contact to job offer took approx. 8 days and was very proactive, professional and straight to the point.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The questions in the introductory call with HR were personal and motivational questions meant to assess the personal fit on both sides.
The questions in the case study and during the presentation to the founders aimed at assessing the understanding of the business model, the industry and the product I would be working with.
What is payever?
Which countries would you expand to next and why?
Perform a market share and profitability analysis of following X industries.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at payever (Hamburg) in Jan 2021
Interview
I applied to the position in December 2020. HR reach out to me by mentioning their interest in my profile, in addition to a small questionnaire to fill. The questionnaire would show your motivation to join payever, with some questions related to the startup itself and the business model.
After my submission by 2 weeks, I reach out to HR again for a follow up, and they schedule an interview with me for 3 weeks in advance. One day before the interview, HR cancelled it without any explanation. And of course, after I wrote them an email for clarification, I got no answer.
The process and communication is a complete mess. No wonder why they are in need of an Operations Manager.
