The recruiter reached out to me about this role in smartTrade. Before I proceed, I checked the review online and a bit skeptical about the company overall, but I still decide to continue with the interview.
First round is HR round. Talk about your compensation expectation, how the company works, etc.
Then you are required to do a "personality test", which will analyze what type of person you are. It took around 20 minutes, or 10 minutes if you just randomly click. But not sure the purpose of this.
The next round is the technical part. There’s no coding, but basically the interviewer throws all sort of concepts at you, like OOD, ORM, tricky things in Java. Also asks you what you did in a recent project of yours, kind of deep dive into the project.
The interviewer also mentioned he wanted someone to be able to do certain things. The bar is set very clear I must say. He also mentioned this is the only technical round. If you got passed, you do another HR round and it’s done and done.
Overall, not a difficult interview. I didn’t make through, but I think the interviewer is not bad. He explained tons of what the company does, and what to expect from you, which impressed me I have to say. Although he has a thick French accent, but he did his job. But in the end, he didn’t choose me, and I am okay with that. Even if I was chosen, I might still be a bit concerned on the reviews I’ve read online.
