I applied for the Senior Product Developer, not expecting for the recruiter to say that they felt i was under qualified for the position and offering the Product Developer role instead (lower title & pay band) despite having a background that would qualify me for similar titles elsewhere. Although she was nice and the conversation was smooth, if this was the direction they planned to move in, it would have been better to ask me via email than waste time.
