A honeycomb sandwich might sound like a sweet treat, but in the hands of Plascore it's a super strong building material. The company makes plastic and aluminum cores in the shape of honeycombs. Strong and lightweight, the cores are "sandwiched" between aluminum or other materials and are employed in applications such as airplane doors, helicopter blades, impact barriers, and soundproofing. The company's products are used, for instance, in floor panels in most airliners, as well as in planes' galleys, flaps, nacelles, and overhead bins. Plascore's products are also used in the automotive, electronic, marine, medical, pharmaceutical, and rail markets.
