HCLSoftware is not just a company; it is the culmination of a pioneering legacy. Our story begins in 1976 with the birth of Hindustan Computers Limited (HCL), a company that dared to challenge the status quo.
In 1983, we stood shoulder-to-shoulder with global giants, indigenously developing an RDBMS, a Networking OS, and a Client-Server architecture – a testament to our unwavering commitment to innovation.
Fast forward to 1996, our entrepreneurial spirit led us to pivot towards Engineering & IT Services, paving the way for the establishment of HCL Technologies in 1999. HCL's diversification continued with the formation of HCL Healthcare in 2014.
In 2015, we ignited the core passion of building software products at scale, including all our organic IP products like DRYICE.AI and ER-X. This was followed by strategic IPP partnerships in DevOps, Automation, and Cybersecurity/Compliance. These partnerships culminated in a successful joint venture with Sumeru Equity in 2018 to acquire Actian.
The pivotal moment came in 2019 when we acquired Business Applications and Select Industry Leading products from IBM.
This marked the birth of HCL Products & Platforms (v1.0). It wasn't just a name change; it was a strategic unification. By bringing all our best-in-class software products under one umbrella, we created a powerful, customer-centric brand focused on empowering businesses to achieve the extraordinary.
In 2022, we took the next step by converging all the different product families under one common Software Division of HCLTech as HCLSoftware.
