Poor communication, but fair workplace

Pros

small startup without the ego of big establishments friendly people at HQ - when you can get ahold of them, that is excellent pay with bonuses

Cons

typically stringent absence policies poor curriculum development - a lot is left to the teacher to do abysmally pathetic communication - not a lot of clarity especially during onboarding

-Students and parents are amazing! -Good hours -Good money until it wasn't (see cons)

I was with the company for also two years and I had with a full schedule with very happy parents! Until I could not do it anymore and I quit. Below are the reasons I did and the reasons you should look else where for a job! -The company cut "all" staff pay by half through an email ( some teachers did get a phone call, not me)that was also retroactive a week. So I was working for about half my pay without even knowing it! Later found out not everyone got the cut! I totally understand these are hard times but don't lie and be up front. Oh then found out they raised the class prices for the company. Ummm something is not right here? -There class materials had many grammar mistakes that they would never correct "Knee Buffers"? what? -Are in a bad mood so staff can't talk to you. (I am not kidding this was an excuse not to talk to me once!) -Oh then you quit because you deserve better and then they don't pay you the last of your pay check. To be fair they do have a policy if you don't give 30 days you don't get your check, but they told me a week after they changed my pay that it was about $6 less a class! And this is not the first time they changed the pay scale! -Most of their teachers are looking for other job because they are treated so badly. -They closed our teacher chat so no one could talk to each other. - And just a lot of lies.

Hello coach from New York. Thank you for reviewing. Because of the pandemic, a lot of companies were facing enormous pressure and had to cut salary in order to survive. Right now we are recovering gradully. The main reason we closed teacher chat is that we used it to post notifications. If teachers chat in the group, the notifications will be covered easily. We were sorry that you had to leave and we wish you success in your future career. About the grammar mistake you mentioned, it has been corrected already. There are no perfect teaching materials. It is due to the efforts of our nice coaches that we can improve our courseware step by step. Really appreciate it!
