Pros

The pay and perks are very good.

Cons

At Able you are expected to execute on high-quality UI. Not on solving problems, doing user research, or validating assumptions. Able's clients do not want input from product designers. Undoing work and redoing it is a common practice. Often times, Able products do not launch. It is more project work, than product work. If you are a UI designer who enjoys a fast-paced environment, this is a good fit.

Pros

I could say it was remote, but every day they forced us to "happily" join to on-site activities. It has English classes for the Peruvian office, but my teacher specifically was pretty bad Some nice talented people

Cons

The culture is a joke, what it seems to be at the USA, is different, even for the values they expect at Peru. The standard for excellence is pretty low. They had overlapped roles that generate confusion but also does not help to continue the conversation. Every crucial conversion hold as a battle between QA, development, and product. Managers season this state with their blurry lines, the tendency to gossip and lack of professionalism. At the USA process don't have a nearly real process of design centered in users. It is up to your head, like if it is 2003 or something. They don't even consider data or product validation. They waste your money for months. Have a culture of blame. It's not accountability where you held responsibly. It is "blame" where you're held guilty for products. Some talented bullies doing moving to the people Not a career path in development Not mentoring program for juniors, everyone is "senior" somehow They played the fool card on harassment and even didn't get to talk to the victim appropriately.

Pros

Pay and benefits are good for this size company The problems the partners are solving are mostly meaningful Skilled teammates Was an incredible culture, there are still strong pockets, but it is fading The Founder, Mike Potter, is incredible at leading but isn’t involved in the company anymore.

Cons

The change in leadership has created a slow trickle of toxicity from the top No longer feeling like a physiologically safe environment, but generally sr management is good A revolving door of executives is concerning Recent layoffs due to lack of focus on generating new business Women leadership replaced by men often
