Although a nonprofit Abode works like a corporation, the architecture studio specifically is small but has all the negative characteristics of working for a “starchitect” or large studio. -no mentoring or training into projects or existing workflow -no clear communication -everyone is overwhelmed/over worked -timelines are unrealistic -work is not design driven -time is not valued -upper management hardly available -no standards all around cad etc. -upper management dismissive of team -very hierarchical -staff who has been there for years are passive aggressive and expect you to catch up on existing bad habits -no professional development support The worse part is the performative support. Leadership will say things like let us know how to help but when you have questions they are very passive aggressive.

Unhealthy work studio No support No transparency Will be stuck in a bubble working only on what they can use you for Leadership not open to listening to ideas or contribution Leadership very condescending and passive aggressive No room for growth- through exams, in promotions, professional affiliations, or raise Young professionals do not come here there is no support at all !! Architecture studio Leadership very insensitive to vulnerable communities / social justice conversations Will overwork you to the ground Will work weekends Will be misleading in interviews about support and studio culture
