I can't believe I am saying this... But I love my job.
16 Feb 2023 - IT Support Specialist in Waukee, IARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Strong culture. Great coworkers. So many opportunities to move up within the company. Problem solving is easy with so many resources that are willing to help out.
Cons
I honestly can't think of any cons. Some of the programs used can be a little challenging to get the hang of at first, but their is plenty of training and so many resources to use to get help when needed.

Find a Career, Not just a job
17 Feb 2023 - Anonymous Employee in Waukee, IARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Honestly, when I started at Access I was just looking for a paycheck. It completely surprised me that I stumbled across a place I'd love to retire from. Your job expectations are clearly laid out, you have a voice for improvements or concerns, and management ACTUALLY cares about you. This is the place for you if you do not want to feel like just another number.
Cons
We all work hard. If a fast pace is not for you, you will not excel here.

Thank you for sharing how you feel about your career at Access. I agree whole-heartedly, management cares deeply. This is the first and only organization that I have been where the CEO/owner has used the word "love" when talking about team members. Loyalty is a shared experience and returned ten fold. Thank you again for your review!

Honesty Is not the best Policy
14 Feb 2023 - QA Engineer in Waukee, IARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
It was fun and a learning experience.
Cons
heaven forbid you disagree with them. I did not get a review or employee meeting for months and when it was it was pointed out. I got a short review. When i brought up compensation and the frustration, i was terminated the next day. you cannot voice your honest opinion without the threat of being fired. that happened within the first 6 months. There is definitely a click going on. I have watched too many good people come and go from there.

I understand that being terminated from a job you said this week you loved at a company you wanted to work for is very frustrating. It is disappointing that you again take your emotions to a public forum. I will dispute your heading, honesty is the best policy, as integrity is our number one core value. You have a voice at Access, over your tenure we have listened to your ideas and concerns – acting as needed. Unfortunately, if you disagreed with the answer or felt you were "right," you were not receptive and walked away – numerous times when the other person was mid-sentence. I experienced that personally many times. For clarity for others reading your review, I would also like to share that your manager regularly communicated with you via weekly meetings. He kept you in the loop about the department's vision, transitions, and expectations. These weekly meetings also allowed you to express your feedback and concerns. After discovering the oversight on your delayed annual review, we completed it very timely, taking accountability for the delay and apologizing, which you then stated was not an issue. What was an issue were the statements you made that led to your termination, which you acknowledged in writing this week, yet you attempt to deflect, defame, and take no accountability for in a public forum such as this. This is another indicator that Access was not the right fit for you; it isn't for everyone. We wish you success in your future endeavors and career.

Pros
Great Leadership Growth Opportunities Unmatched Culture
Cons
No remote work opportunities offered

Director of HR
Thank you for your review. All three "pros" were spot on but my favorite is how you noted "unmatched culture". We totally agree with that statement. As a leadership team, we believe that unmatched culture is directly fueled by having the team in-house. We do not have a remote work environment but we do provide extensive flexibility to work around life, family events, etc. Being in sales, you are "running your own business" within Access and have a ton of autonomy to plan your day, schedule appointments, and see customers. We appreciate you and the time to share your thoughts!

Constant Satisfaction
16 Feb 2023 - NOC Service Manager in Waukee, IARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The growth and success of this company is staggering. We reward those who put forth the effort and the sense of satisfaction for these efforts is incredible. A rewarding place to spend your days and enjoy your talent.
Cons
No job is perfect. Without the negatives and the tough times, success will feel meaningless.

Pros
Access Systems is absolutely amazing. They see you as a person first, employee second. They are very humble, but truly are the best company out there. The owner makes a point to meet each and every employee and travels to continue to visit and receive feedback from all employees on a regular basis. The administrative assistant feels like a 2nd mother and knows everything and cares deeply about every employee. The company cares about its employees, employees home lives and our customers. The rest all follows. I don't have enough words to explain how great of a place it is to work.
Cons
The only improvement area would be that with the growth of the company it can be hard to keep up. Again though at the end of the day with the commitment that management has, we all know it will all work out and they will keep the employees, the company and our customers first.

Access Systems is truly one of the best companies to work for!
14 Nov 2022 - Account Executive in Mason City, IARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Access Systems' culture is HANDS DOWN the best part about the company. In addition, the Executive Team is made up of some of the most caring, kind, insightful, and generous people. Access Systems (Shane) goes above and beyond for the employees who work here and hosts some of the best events including our annual Christmas party, summer Employee Appreciation events, team outings, branch meetings, and more. Since Shane purchased the company over 15-years ago, it has grown with an average of 40% year over year and that continues to be the trend. This leaves a lot of room for growth and promotions within the company - which is another reason why I am excited to work here. The future excites me and is bright for Access!
Cons
The only "con" that I could think of are the small growing pains we experience on occasion due to our growth. But, I also listed this as a "pro"!
- Former Employee, more than 3 years★★★★★
Pros
Flexible as long as you meet your numbers
Cons
Many managers micromanage and want to look over your shoulder constantly. Same handful of people of people are in leadership for years regardless of their knowledge or abilities
Access Systems Response
Director of HR
Access Systems is a sales driven organization and growth comes from the sales teams hitting their numbers. Many appreciate the "ETR" (earn the right) environment that when you are doing the activity and hitting revenue goals you are able to "run your own business". Unfortunately when team members aren't making calls, having the needed number of appointments, or getting the revenue results the sales managers must be more involved, or as you note "micromanage". Coming from a sales background in this industry, I personally can attest that when you are doing the work and getting results, it is a Win-Win combination. Your manager values your contribution and is there to support and celebrate your wins. That is their preference!
- Current Employee, more than 10 years★★★★★
Pros
I have been with Access Systems for a very long time and I can honestly say the people I work with are family. I cannot see my self working at any other place. We work hard and we play hard. For some it is difficult to hit the high expectations we have or to keep up with the daily changes. But if you are an achiever and like to push yourself to always achieve more this is the place for you.
Cons
Growing fast and need more people willing to step up and become leaders.

Thank you for your review. We are both a team and family, working for common goals. The pace is fast and a rush for those who thrive in that environment.
