Don’t drink the Kool-Aid

Pros

Great coworkers and flexible work hours

Cons

Extremely unprofessional leadership team. No loyalty to anyone who helped get the company to where it is today. Extremely cultish. If you don’t drink the Kool Aid, or if you question authority, you’re signing your own pink slip. High performance isn’t rewarded when it comes time for salary adjustments. You’re frequently told that you should appreciate working at one of the top places to work in Austin (no longer true), and if you want the salary you deserve based on performance to support yourself, good luck in your future endeavors.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. While we're glad to hear you enjoyed the people you worked alongside, we are sorry to hear you didn't feel better about your whole experience. We hire bright, humble and hungry people, and we work to design reward programs that recognize their high performance and our shared success. We believe performance encompasses both what you do and how you do it and living our values daily is an expectation of every employee at every level. We value authenticity, a growth mindset and diversity of thought as we work together to achieve our goals of helping others succeed and creating delight. Any additional feedback is welcomed and we wish you the best.

Better drink the Kool Aid!

Pros

-Start-up vibe, interesting and engaging co-workers, passionate about the company and it's future. -Unlimited PTO (but not quite if you're in an essential role) -Good Benefits and flexible with work locations (they at least try to meet the average comp for the area, but tend to lean on the lower side)

Cons

-Company leadership needs work, CEO makes an effort with communicating but not actually leading. Most VP and Director level folks are scrambling to show results often at the expense and well-being of individual contributors. -Company values are more forced than actually demonstrated or valued. -Too many all-hands and other "professional development" meetings which significantly interrupt actual working time, meaning lots of late nights, and "days off" where you're expected to work/be available. -Lack of diversity in company and on board despite a push for diversity. -Many long-term employees with institutional knowledge have recently left.

Hey there - I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. As I continue to develop, I'd love to learn how I'm not meeting your expectations so I can improve as a leader. Please reach out to me directly or anonymously with more tactical feedback. Regarding diversity, while we continue to have the opportunity to improve on the DE&I front, the stats we collect and share internally don't necessarily tie to your stated perspective. >55% of our company is female, and over 40% is non-white. Our executive team is 60% female and 30% non-white. Our Board of Directors is 30% female and 100% of the board seats we can influence are stellar Directors who also happen to be female. I also understand that diversity in itself is not the only piece of the puzzle and we have past, current, and future projects to create a more equitable and inclusive workforce. On the other topics, we do value frequent and transparent communication and we do give a lot of holidays. I'll work with the team to make sure expectations are clear that those are to help people succeed and not be a burden in any way. Thanks! Blake (Founder & CEO)
