Company is run by a politician that smooth talks to a soon to be obsolete group of education administrators. An accreditation model of measuring the quality of an educational institution by going through a check list created decades ago is as relevant as punch-card computing today. This is certainly not helped by hiring family and friends to all the key posts.
IT leadership is run by someone that reads IT for dummies on the weekend and then tries to push half-baked ideas on the team on Mondays. There is a never ending list of bugs and "features" that live in a spreadsheet purgatory where nothing is ever closed or thrown away. Hours long meetings are scheduled to reshuffle the same spreadsheets over and over. IT leadership is about as inspiring as moldy bread. As a developer you can only hope to churn out some features in a system that is poorly thought out and solves absolutely nothing in the real world. There is no concept of technological debt. You will be working on a big pile of bugs created by developers before you and due to rushed deadlines. This company is trying to put on a shiny new tech savvy mask on an old and obsolete system and organization and failing miserably. If you are ok being a yes-man and having no integrity then this is a place for you!
