I would not recommend working at this organization. The Coyle brothers, exhibit manipulative behavior that creates a toxic work environment. They hold strong personal beliefs, including their association with Scientology, which appears to create a disconnected, insular atmosphere within the company. Notably, the absence of a Human Resources department allows issues that should not be overlooked to go unaddressed. As a female employee, I personally experienced inappropriate comments and behavior, including unwanted physical contact. I felt compelled to tolerate these incidents in order to focus on the positive relationships with patients, who were truly the highlight of my time there. However, it’s important to acknowledge that the atmosphere was not conducive to a healthy workplace. Dr. Jeff does not prioritize the safety or wellbeing of his staff. A troubling incident occurred with a patient who was enrolled in a 3-5 month program. This individual repeatedly disrupted the office, exhibiting erratic behavior and even threatening to fight employees. Despite the growing discomfort and fear among staff members, Dr. Jeff dismissed the situation, citing that the patient had paid a lot of money for treatment and advised us to simply "ignore" the behavior. The safety of the staff was clearly not a concern for him, as he appeared to view the patient solely as a revenue stream. Furthermore, there were consistent issues with timekeeping. The company manipulated timesheets to ensure no employee received pay for more than 7.5 hours per day, even when overtime was worked. This issue was discovered collectively by staff, but when efforts were made to escalate the matter, they were ignored. Additionally, due to chronic understaffing, many employees, myself included, were often forced to work beyond the typical 5-hour mark or take late lunches, which is both against California labor laws and detrimental to employee health. Dr. Jeff was the only staff member with an hour reserved for lunch, while the rest of us were left to take breaks when possible. There was also a notable lack of concern for the well-being of female staff, with a few creepy male patients (that came once to twice a week) exhibiting behavior that made many of us uncomfortable. Dr. Jeff's dismissal of these incidents, coupled with his own inappropriate conduct, further contributed to a hostile environment. Despite the camaraderie among staff members, the overall work conditions became untenable. The turnover rate at this clinic is alarmingly high, and even patients have remarked on the frequent staff changes. The organization hires and fires with little regard for employee retention, and many employees leave voluntarily once they become aware of the many red flags within the workplace. There are no benefits or opportunities for growth, and the job description provided does not accurately reflect the reality of the position. In conclusion, while the treatments offered to the wonderful patients may be effective, I would strongly advise against pursuing employment here. Staff are not valued, and the overall work environment is deeply problematic.
