Pros

Great training for the position at the beginning. Many coworkers were supportive, but it depends on the team/territory.

Cons

The funnels new employees are given when hired were the remaining scraps from previous employees, so many of my accounts were invalid or unusable at the beginning. Some contacts belonged to multiple accounts owned by different people, so even if you reach out to your own account's contact, your coworker will still get a notification that you touched their account. Then your coworkers get angry and defensive over you "working" their business. There's an underlying sense of competition instead of collaboration. When an employee leaves, there's not a consistent process to maintain their funnel, and it hurts the relationship with the referral partner. Then a new rep eventually takes over and it generally leaves a bad impression with the referral partner who spent a lot of time developing the relationship. The company is very strict on maintaining their metrics, because it means they can expand to another location. But these metrics are real people, with real illnesses, and real trauma. There's also a lot of emotional labor involved, I spoke with multiple people who were homeless or in jail that I couldn't help. But if you don't keep up with these metrics, there's no real "consequence" the company can utilize except being put on a PIP and then let go.

Pros

Decent hourly pay for some, but terrible for others. Cool coworkers and friendly but brainwashed managers. Ok benefits package. They hire recovering alcoholics and addicts.

Cons

There is a bizarre toxic management structure that is motivated by greed for more money. It starts with the president and infects all areas of the company. The company is no longer concerned with saving lives, it wants to make the numbers at any cost and keep cranking out new facilities. It's gross and it affects everyone. There are no commissions in booking people into drug rehab so the management only has threats of firing and demotion under their belts. Their is a fear based management style and lots of write ups and empty threats. It's a very transparent and unsustainable model in a profession that relies on employees to be vulnerable and open with their lives to clients. The job itself is mentally exhausting, it's at times emotionally devastating and extremely frustrating. There is no mental health support for employees and multiple managers and employees have relapsed on drugs while at work. The management irresponsibly impose a quantitative metric system on a qualitative role. The bottom line is that employees at ARS have a kind of shared Stockholm Syndrome, even the managers, and the threats and high employee turnover leads to a very toxic work environment. It's an absolute nightmare.

Pros

Good if you are interested in working with trauma patients and patents with PTSD The cafeteria food is good (but you have to pay for it if you are not a favorite)

Cons

Hostile working environment (i.e harassment and internal bullying) Clinical Team is very cliquish and you never feel you are apart of a "team" Lacks adequate and professional leadership Little room for growth and professional development Long working day hours (12 or more hours and only paid for 8 hours) Lacks diversity and environment can be covertly racist and micro aggressive towards minorities.
