Pros

I worked at ASA for several years, I would still be there if I did not move out of state. I was hired as an CNC operator right out of CET. I was able to quickly earn a higher wage by taking part in their Tooling U online classes, not only did I increase my hourly wage they pay for completion of the online classes! Overall great experience.

Pros

AST will hire a lot of people with very little to no experience. They are bilingual , and can keep you close to 40 hours a week. there are always opportunities to get a job here.

Cons

If you are looking for a professionally run, organized, and efficient company that can help you grow and see your potential, this is not the place for you. Due to hiring practices, they hire people with no experience, and the training offered by AST is very poor. because employees tend not to have a lot of knowledge and experience, accidents and mistakes are a constant. There are no consistent reviews, and even when you get it in writing they do not honor their word. Management will bully employees who are not qualified for the jobs they were assigned to do, and use your job as a threat to complete a task that may be unsafe. i have seen several employees be let go simply for protesting against bad business practices. This company is not rational and anyone wanting to apply should take caution in what you want from them.

Pros

There is not even one good thing to say about this horrible business

Cons

The bullying in this workplace is very real and it is also a manner of psychological abuse. The president of the company has a cavalier attitude toward the staff. He is kind of guy who is mind-controlling abuser, he is obnoxious bully, who rules by intimidation, insist on getting his way and fly off the handle easily. He treats subordinates like children and seldom ask for anyone's input. He finds great thrills in treating the workplace like a battlefield. Once he senses an employee's soft spot, he pounces on it. The unsuspecting victim doesn't stand a chance.
