Not the company I used to work for...

Pros

I used to work for ILFC, before it is taken over by AerCap. I can't find many pros about AerCap except the travel opportunities and some training (though I had to get trained for 2 years).

Cons

Many. The executives do not seem to have the knowledge to manage their staff. No flexibility in working hours, no good bonuses as before with ILFC, no good salary increases. The company has made clear to the employees that they work for the stakeholders while ILFC used to work for the employees. I can't think this company going well with the existing mentality. Benefits are ridiculous. Offering a class B food for the employees does not make the company good...

Pros

The office was modern and stylish and the kitchen was always freshly stocked with drinks, snacks and fresh fruit. The company closed its LA offices and provided decent severance packages to most employees. They provided some shares which have been helpful.

Cons

They allow management the freedom to treat their subordinated in an unkind manner as long as they are producing profits. A blind eye is often turned to bad behavior by senior management. They don't seem to want to truly deal with HR problems, they only have time for profit. Barely a slap on the wrist at most is offered to abusive bosses. The management's handling of the Covid 19 pandemic was bumbling and disorganized at best. It made little actual sense much of the time. They had an ignorant old school "oh you'll be fine" approach that wasn't appreciated by much of the staff. They forced people into the office during infection spikes. The closures did not follow the current science, it was more about how the people at the top "felt it would look" to have bodies back in the office. It is absolutely an Old Boy's Club and can be very difficult for some others to break through. They could use several required DEI management training courses in addition to some fresh blood at the top.

Toxic culture

Pros

Neat offices, centrally located in Dublin with great lunch and facilities

Cons

Culture is toxic, managers rule by fear, office politics are way more important than results. The company is a revolving door but they don't care about retaining talent and sometimes it seems that the most difficult people that can't work well in teams get promoted
