      I think this company is a hidden gem

      Pros

      For a computer geek like me its culture is amazing. The amount of data in the database is fascinating (more than 10 PBytes currently). There are really smart people working at Ahrefs, and the team is small, so it's quite easy to grow professionally and make an impact / work on something very important. The company is actively exploring cutting edge technologies.

      Cons

      Can't think of anything major and non-fixable. Some people might not like that one of the languages used for the backend - OCaml - is not very widespread among other companies. But I liked it. One of the other languages used for the backend is C++.

      - Genuinely nice, humble and interesting coworkers - Competitive pay - Generous bonus and benefits - comped lunch, insurance coverage, top of line hardware - Smart and genuine CEO - Flat hierarchy - Minimal politics - Everyone in the company is experienced and works independently - You work on projects that really matters, minimal vanity projects or internal tooling

      Cons

      Office is extremely quiet. Although we are asked to go to office (with some remote work allowance), no one collaborates in person naturally outside of slack, meetings or lunches because no one talks to each other

      Pros

      Company trips; Get to have paid trip to work on-site in Singapore if you are remote. No-nonsense work environment where things get done.

      Cons

      Not necessarily a downside, but the work requires being willing to cut straight to the chase and pick good solutions quickly. The expectations are high and you will need to carve out your own spot on the team.
