High Ownership, High Impact, Still Evolving
Pros
I’ve had a good experience at Airwallex so far. It’s been a strong learning environment, especially from a sales perspective, because there’s exposure to the full funnel - sourcing leads, prospecting, booking meetings, running discoveries, closing deals, and supporting activation (Account management) . The pace is definitely high, and there’s a lot to do, so it suits someone who enjoys being challenged and learning quickly. At the same time, some management is still ramping up, so some areas are continuing to evolve. If you’re comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with plenty of ownership, it can be a great place to grow.
Cons
The Bangalore office is still in its early stages, which means some aspects of culture and employee engagement are still evolving. Given that many teams operate across different time zones, opportunities for cross functional interaction and visibility into the work of other teams can sometimes be limited. As the company follows a largely office based approach while many organizations have embraced remote work models, more frequent team outings, social events, and informal gatherings could help strengthen team bonding and make the in office experience more rewarding. From a support and enablement perspective, much of the guidance currently comes from regional teams. As the India team continues to grow, having more local leadership, mentorship, and operational support on the ground could help accelerate decision making, improve collaboration, and enable the team to execute even more effectively. This is a highly entrepreneurial environment. The India office is still being built, and many of the early hires have the unique opportunity and responsibility of shaping the culture, processes, and long term foundation of the team. It can be demanding at times, but for those who enjoy ownership, building from scratch, and going the extra mile, it can be a very rewarding experience.
