Pros

Akeneo was by-far the best company, team, boss I have ever worked for when I first joined. Boston office culture was thriving, travel for global roles was permitted, management was strong and helpful, company and product vision was clear. That all went downhill upon the sudden, poorly handled removal of the COO, introduction of new COO and the new CEO.

Cons

New CEO, COO, CPO do not care about their employees, treating us as "cogs in the machine" versus the backbone and driving force of the success of Akeneo. No direction as a company, no investment in employee growth or professional development, no reinvestment into office culture that has been declining over the last year, no backfilling of crucial roles. The eyes are clearly on the prize of profitability and selling the company, so it's all about $$$$$. The best employees across the globe - the intelligent, hard-working, go-getters were smart, and have left Akeneo in droves since Q1 of 2025. For everyone else, it's just a matter of time until something better comes their way.

Thank you for your long-tenure and for the passion you brought to Akeneo over nearly four years. It’s heartening to hear that your early years here were some of the best in your career; that is the standard we always strive for. We understand that transitions in leadership and strategy can feel unsettling. While our focus has evolved toward long-term stability and profitability, we want to reassure you that our people are never "cogs." In fact, we’ve doubled down on supporting our "backbone" by refining our job leveling and investing in Learning & Development and Personal Development Allowances to ensure our go-getters have a clear path forward. Regarding the Boston office, we’ve moved into a new, right-sized space that has brought a fresh energy to the team. While we’ve traded extensive "global travel" for more sustainable growth, we are proud to maintain a benefits package that remains among the best in the industry; including team offsites, robust Maternity and Paternity leaves, and our Sustainable Transportation Allowance. We’re committed to proving that a profitable company and a thriving, person-centered culture can (and should) exist together. We truly appreciate your perspective and wish you nothing but the best in your next chapter.

Hi there, Thank you for sharing your feedback and for spending more than three years with us at Akeneo. We’re so glad you enjoyed the camaraderie with your teammates; our people are truly the heart of what we do. We hear your concerns regarding the career "ladder." We know that clear, formal paths are incredibly important, especially for our SDR/ BDR team. To address this, we’ve spent the last year deeply focused on job leveling to ensure everyone knows exactly where they stand and what’s next. While we’re still refining those formal career paths for Sales, we’re proud to share that our team's hard work hasn't gone unnoticed. In 2025 alone, 20% of the company received promotions. We are committed to making sure that growth is consistent and transparent for everyone. We appreciate your candid perspective on our leadership decisions as we navigate our next chapter. We’re always learning, and feedback like yours helps us sharpen our focus. We wish you the very best of luck in your next role!

Hi there, Thank you for your review and for your time with us. It’s great to hear that you enjoyed the work-life balance and the great people who make Akeneo what it is. Our people are the core part of our DNA that we never want to change. We appreciate your candidness regarding the transitions you saw. Like many tech companies moving into their next chapter, we’ve shifted our focus toward sustainable, long-term growth. This has meant making intentional choices; like tightening up on global travel to ensure we are investing in what really matters: stronger leadership and a more focused strategy. By reducing our span of control and empowering our new leaders, we’re building a much more stable foundation for our sales and product teams to thrive. We’re proud to still offer a benefits package that remains among the best in the industry; such as team offsites, Maternity and Paternity leaves, Learning & Development, Personal Development Allowance and the Sustainable Transportation Allowance to name a few. We’re excited about where we’re headed and wish you the very best in your journey.
