Pros

It has provided some staff, both union and office hourly, with very long term employment.

Cons

Subpar wages. Hiring and firing decisions make no sense. Benefits are generally subpar. No matching 401k, but there is a profit sharing program for office hourly staff, but it takes 7 years to be vested. Some people don't do anything like the person who answers the phone who is next to useless. A dozen family members actively involved in the day-to-day operation who clearly have no idea of which way to go. Their business has contracted considerably over the past 5 years and they have lost a lot of their market share through archaic, backwards business practices.

Pros

Learned a few good skills.

Cons

I worked at the Canadian branch for 4 years. We got notice that it was shutting down, and would not be relocating. We all lost our jobs and found out a few months later they reopened at another location...
