Ally is truly my ALLY!
4 Apr 2023 - Payment Specialist in Jacksonville, FLRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
To fill you in on my background a little: I have held quite a few positions in my career, at several different companies. The thing is, I have never been able to find a company that met all of my expectations, or even come CLOSE to it - until ALLY! Honestly, I love everything about Ally. The management engages with you and treats you like an equal HUMAN, not a number! Our hybrid schedule provides the best of both worlds - in the office and working from home. GREAT, positive vibes surround me in the office, and even come across this way virtually (when working from home). We have so much fun, while remaining professional and working hard at the same time! Wonderful work-life balance, our schedule is awesome, I can literally feel this amazing vibe here. Ally provides Diversity, Equality, honesty, plenty of work, including overtime available at times, when needed. If you're wanting to advance your career - there is SO MUCH OPPORTUNITY at Ally - just communicate this with your supervisors! With so many departments, there's an ample amount of promotion possibilities.
Cons
The ONLY con I can think of, which is actually just a preference, there is a lot of change in this industry. I just happen to LOVE change. It means bigger and better things, and screams opportunity!

Good starting, bad promotional pay
24 May 2023 - Customer Service Representative (CSR) in Charlotte, NCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
$23 starting pay is great and competitive, calls volume isn’t unmanageable, metrics are doable and not heavily enforced, incentive pay for good performance without doing anything outside of job expectations. Very diverse and friendly atmosphere, the building is gorgeous, position is still partially remote.
Cons
Increase in training comes with little financial reward. Training isn’t long enough for increase in difficulty. Calls are randomly pulled and graded a little too often.

Don't believe the recruiter
24 May 2023 - Deposits Consultant in Charlotte, NCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great people work here, but they aren't in management roles.
Cons
Left a higher-paying job because I believed the narrative in the "do it right" mentality. It's not practiced, only preached. 1st time in my life I've had a recruiter lie about pay and benefits. The bonus structure is not what they said it would be, and they don't provide equal opportunities based on hard work. It's about who you know outside of work.

Diversity and culture are a major part of this company.
23 May 2023 - Loss Mitigation Supervisor in Lewisville, TXRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great paid time off and salary. As with any company you get out what you put in. Customer service oriented and negotiation skills and Skip tracing a must.
Cons
Medical benefits not the greatest.

Be careful what team you join
12 Apr 2023 - Senior Risk Analyst in Charlotte, NCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
*Some departments are wonderful and friendly *Encouraged to be apart of the community in some departments *Encouraged to grow skills in some departments *Flexibility in some departments *Free parking uptown
Cons
*Managers don't receive training on how to manage even if they have never managed. Even if you go to the HRBP its unlikely something will be done. *The Risk ORM department is incredibly cold and unfriendly *The Risk ORM department does not allow you to grow new skills or be a part of the ERG's. They are above being involved with the Ally Culture. *Don't always receive job training and then are criticized for not getting it fast enough. *The Ally Culture is not shared by all departments *Pay is on the low end of the scale
