Pros

No macro management. Flexible schedule. Coworkers are very friendly and helpful.

Cons

They don’t have a good training system—you must learn on your own. There’s no job security; they can let you go at any time, even if you’re doing everything right. You could get a recognition for you exceptional job and be fired in 3 weeks later. The pay is below average. The HR and operations teams are useless. They can fire you without conducting an investigation or maintaining proper records. I witnessed cases of “wrongful termination.” Make sure to keep your own records and document everything in case you need to file a lawsuit. They experiment with different roles, and if it doesn’t work out, they let you go. You’re likely to have a job for only five months if that’s the case. They don’t have a handbook policy for employees, so you don’t really know your rights there. There’s no support for your growth in other departments.

Good Progress, Needs More Changes

Pros

There’s been a lot of changes and it’s been beneficial for a lot of departments. New leadership structures in certain areas of the org that actually work and care about their team. They’re starting to really invest in the new hires they’re bringing on who actually know what they’re doing.

Cons

Unfortunately, there is a lot of nepotism from the ELT and leadership across all departments. There are some employees who don’t necessarily do a good job or actually makes things worse that aren’t being reprimanded. On top of that, some of the ELT just don’t know how to lead or be a good leader. So it trickles down to the departments they oversee.

We appreciate hearing both the positive aspects and areas where we can improve. We’re glad to hear that you’ve noticed positive changes within the organization, particularly with new leadership structures and increased investment in new hires. We’re committed to creating an environment where every team member feels supported and valued. Regarding your concerns about nepotism and ineffective leadership, we take these matters seriously. We understand the importance of fair and transparent practices, and we encourage all team members to directly address concerns with the people department or their managers. Our company was founded on the principle of hiring great people and it is true that there are friends and family within our team. That said, our company is a meritocracy and receives regular feedback on performance - regardless of personal relationships. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your experience at Alpine IQ, we are always finding ways to improve.

Pros

The pay was alright but not worth dealing inexperienced managers that only got the job because they are friends with the owners. Like completely without a shred of management experience and was put in charge of a new markets team.

Cons

Open cannabis consumption by high level members of the ELT on Zoom. Constantly changing expectations because every industry they pursue outside of cannabis thinks they are a joke.
