Pros

The spoiler for you: This is not a global executive search firm. I repeat myself; this is not a global executive search firm as Egon or Hedrick. This is an India based executive search firm which has taken the franchise operation rights from Amrop and hence known as Amrop in India. • This firm is controlled by a Senior partner and her husband and decision and policies are based on moods of the partners on that day. • If you really keen on developing yourself in the search industry, this is one of the best firms to work with – very good on the job training, great exposure into the complete search process and exposed to all the industries. • A researcher or consultant with Amrop would be doing all the things in the search process as someone at the principal or consultant level in Egon would do. • Bad part is, you would be doing the same thing the whole life in Amrop. No career growth path for you in Amrop India beyond consultant unless you are extremely “close to” the Managing partner. • Specific partners are unprofessional in their behavior. • No industry practice or group, so you would be like jack of all trades but expert in nothing.

Cons

• No standards in internal policies, changes with the moods of the partners. • No long term growth prospects • You have to be in a particular gang with a specific partner to grow

Pros

rigorous training, good understanding of research in the executive search space

Cons

1. Franchisee model - Typical Indian LALA company. Run by husband and wife! 2. Global network, but of no use, no common database, no interaction. It is not even appreciated, half the time group companies are fighting over fees! 3. No employee development - no career path/growth path, no retention policies 4. Horrible work culture - no work life balance ALLOWED! people are forced to come in on saturdays, work on holidays! 5. No control in search process, all partner driven 6. The senior consultant does the same work as a research associate!!! 7. High attrition 8. No worthwhile policies in place 9. Once employed, partners think they own employees!

Pros

# Salary on time # They give you free lunch on the Saturdays you have to show up for work in your office : "to participate in our 3-D meeting and to close weekly compliances" # There's alcohol stocked in the office - presumably to help those who inevitably crash trying to work with incompetence.

Cons

# There is only one decision making authority - and an incompetent one at that. # Tries to portray an illusion competence when in reality the two partners in leadership haven't worked a day of their lives working in a professional run organization. It is a stretch to expect competence when the promoters dont even have a frame of reference to draw from. # Deeply insecure and decisively indecisive in all aspects of company administration an organization # Attempts to ironically drive "thought leadership" in areas they know nothing about.
