Pros

- Realistic and achievable targets are set by the directors for staff to hit. - The availability of a team structure means thorough support and understanding in any given situation. There is also support from both directors in all circumstances. From falling short of your target to personal situations. They care alot about their staff and not just those who are high performers. - Zero cold calling - directors invest in their marketing to give their staff the best opportunities available. - Brilliant client retention and long term working relationships due to transparency and trustful relationship between clients and The Ashdown Group. - Friendly and engaging environment. - All staff are treated equally and encouraged to do well. - Fun socials and good staff reward for achievement.

Cons

- You may not always hit your target but that is reflective of all recruitment environments. You get out what you put in! - Slower periods of business from time to time.

Pros

I worked in the Operations Team for 2 years. I learnt a lot, and was always given the opportunity to learn and take on more challenges. The company was always very friendly and sociable, and several company events organised throughout the year. I made friends that remained in my life years after leaving the company. Offices were always clean, tidy and well presented.

Cons

I remember my time as Ashdown very fondly, and am grateful for the experience it gave me.

Pros

I spent 18 Months working for the Ashdown Group and I can honestly say it was the most enjoyable time I've ever had working for somebody else in my 10 year+ working career. They look after you as one of the family from day one, training you in to how the company works and how to get the most out of your candidates. They hand the jobs out in a fair manner, which enables everybody to earn very good commission. The basic salary is ok, but the way the company works enables you to earn commission straight away and regularly from there on in. You also have the opportunity to get out and meet clients regularly, which again adds to the variety in the role. The social scene is very good at Ashdown, ranging from after work drinks to large social company outings. It really does have the feel of a large family working for the company. I learnt a huge amount working for Diccon and John, and it put me in good stead for setting up my own company. I would recommend this company to anybody looking to move forward in their career.

Cons

In all honesty I loved my 18 months, so I couldn't give you anything that I would really consider a con. Like all jobs, sometimes you can have frustrating days, or work later than you would ideally like, but certainly no more than I would consider standard.

Really friendly and supportive team!

Pros

Very supportive new management structure and friendly and collaborative culture. Senior management really looks after the team - COVID was extremely challenging but management ensured everyone that had consistently worked hard were kept on when most of our competitors made everyone redundant (we only lost 4 of the 25 employees due to redundancy and in all honesty it was their time to go). Lots of great project work to be involved in over the last few months - as well as additional training. Rewarded really well - lots of incentives, paid for team socials and rewards. We have all been fully paid on bonuses and commission even throughout the pandemic and we get paid on everything we make. Much more of a team feeling now the business is filled with positive high performers and a leaner, well respected management team. Everyone is recognised positively for their contribution regularly and since the pandemic the business seems to have a new, fresh energy. The last 15 months have been challenging but actually the changes it has created internally means we have a much friendlier, much more positive and much more together team. New fully flexible working from home model is amazing - has made the team alot happier and more productive.

Cons

Need to be resilient - even when candidates drop out at the last minute!! Whilst it is an SME and fairly flat structure in terms of career progression - the opportunity to enhance your skills and increase revenue is pretty infinite.

Pros

Really nice collaborative team Supportive and accommodating environment to work in Fair and achievable targets with great commission structure Lots of social team events subsidised by the business Good company benefits - gym membership, cycle to work scheme, healthcare etc Ethical approach to recruitment No cold calling - all new business is generated by marketing paid for by the company; as a new Account Manager I was given the opportunity to work with great clients early on The Operations Director is encouraging, motivating, enthusiastic about the business's growth plans and always willing to offer support and guidance without micro managing

Cons

Too many daily/weekly treats on the treat table!!

Pros

Ashdown Group make sure that I am able to do my job effectively and give me every opportunity to succeed. I always feel listened to and am able to be open and honest with my Line Manager . There is also no barriers in communicating with my Directors and opinions are taken on board and acted upon as we are all valued members of the team. The company has restructured and adapted dramatically to accommodate the awful year that brought us Covid but with that there has been some incredible changes, that were infact well underway before this period. They have led us to an environment that is inclusive, collaborative and rewarding. Most notably we are now fully flexible, I can work where I like and when best suits me and my client base. I feel completely trusted to do my job and fulfilled being able to balance my work and home life, it's really great! I am given as much support as I need to tackle challenges and grow within my role and am offered opportunities for promotion and salary increases to reflect the efforts I put into the company which is always recognised by management. Aside from my role, I am part of a team that respects and wants the best for eachother. We share in eachothers successes and can rely on one another - which can be very rare in a sales environment. Lastly, our management and directors (John Lynes and Denis O'Sullivan) are extremely caring and will always look out for their staff, with us at the forefront of their decision making.

Cons

If you're reading this to get an idea of what it is like to work at Ashdown, the only con is that you haven't joined us yet and experienced it for yourself!
