Pros
Initial hiring wage Some opportunity for travel
Cons
Typical corporate culture that talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk. Management filled out my timecard with vacation time without telling me during pregnancy complications stating "They don't want me to worry about money," which was a gross overreach into my personal life and finances. Management tried to convince me to use as little bereavement as possible when my grandma passed away. Didn't provide any onboarding or training when I was hired, Never had a performance meeting or annual review by management. Took two years to get flown to Edmonton for my "First Week" training. NonEngineering roles are understaffed overworked and neglected Every level of management is an engineer still actively engaged in project work. Projects get managed but people, process, and everything else gets neglected, especially for non-engineering roles and departments. Very little opportunity for advancement or official promotion. Raises are small and infrequent, mostly limited to small CoL adjustments
