Pros

Great story line. How ever none of what you hear is true.

Cons

Growing up I was always taught if it sounds too good to be true it usually is. When you meet the CEO John Derbyshire You think wow this guy is awesome, he really cares about his employees I would love to work for this guy. Everyone at corporate will make you feel totally welcome, and make you begin an open door policy and that no matter what position you are in your voice can be heard. However it is all complete and utter bs!!! You will even accept a lower salary thinking that the sacrifice will be worth it after you show what you can do.. Again.... don't walk away run away. Everything about Auto Money is a scam.... From the long tenured employees to their loan and title programs. Upper management will force you into doing poor loans to increase your numbers and even after getting loan approvals from the DM, and the CEO personally, and then getting praise for said loans. BEFORE THE PAYMENT ON the loan becomes due, magically everyone but you has amnesia. I witnessed personally a call from the CEO call a store and be put on hold because the manager was with a CUSTOMER and the CEO wanted to fire the manager on the spot.... Both the manager and the person who answed the phone. In the end it was a formal write up but that was after sending both home and leaving the store to be closed by a trainee 5th day on the job. The CEO and other upper management recruit as many TX employees former and current as possible even thought they are currently involved in a lawsuit with them. IT'S LIKE the CEO has a personal vendetta against title max. You are advised to seek out title max customers and they will dig and dig until they get the Rate a half of a percent under what tmx can do just out of spite.

Pros

The only good thing about this company was you always got paid weekly & it was always in

Cons

He (John Derbyshire) was extremely unprofessional, as stated in a previous review. He wouldn't allow Managers or District Managers to discuss pay or hire employees, only himself, so potential employees were driving to Charleston for $50 with no idea of pay & only the potential of getting hired. He does ask personal questions- number of children, age, marital statues, smoker vs non smoker, etc- during the interview which is highly illegal. He also pays for any former Title Max employee to give him information on Titlemax policies, procedures and/or client information (including paying current Titlemax employees for customer list)!! He pays far below the competition. Assistant Managers start from $8.00/hr to a MAX of $13.00/hr with very few making more than $10/hr. Assistant managers can get overtime and have way less "headache" than Managers also. I refused the Manager position as long as possible as Managers only make $600/wk salary, no overtime. I was forced into the position at which point I promptly quit.
