      Strong pros, but one should be informed of the cons.

      Pros

      Fantastic training and onboarding for individuals in the traditional roles ie. Account Management, Client Relationship Officer, Business Centre Manager. Engaged employees. Fantastic benefits, pension, competitive salaries and overall compensation. Strong attention to work-life balance.

      Cons

      Weak onboarding and training for individuals in non-client-facing roles. Little opportunity for upward mobility unless willing to move across the province or country.

      -great training -great support from superiors and peers -intrinsically rewarding through the impact you can have on Canadian entrepreneurs -leadership opportunities (not formal, but many opportunities arise to take a leadership role) -good work life balance

      -flatter organization -tougher to get things done sometimes

      Pros

      Very good place to work, amazing people, top notch technology and hr practices. Very high paced and sales driven environment, lots to learn. BDC mandate to support entrepreneurs is truly reflected in the culture.

      Cons

      Compensation is the biggest challenge. BDC doesn’t pay as much to account managers given the stress they have to handle. Very small organization, limited carrier growth opportunities.

      Pros

      The way that we help Entrepreneurs is amazing :) I am proud of the work that we do for Canadian Business. Good salaries and benefits and flexibility ( if you have a good manager . ) In theory work life balance is supported, good pension and mobility.

      So many internal meetings although it is improving.
