Pros

1) Free transport if your CTC is less than 10LPA 2) Mobile and broadband reimbursemnt 3) can claim 50% 0r 15000 (whichever is less) for new mobile under BYOD

Cons

It starts with offer : -> Your offer letter wont have any logo. There wont be any proof that offer letter you are holding is yours and is not manipulated. When you will ask about this, you will get to hear this is how BT works and you should not care about these things as soon as you are getting money in hand When it comes to first day : -> Try going without printout of joining forms. HR will scold you like you are his/her slave :). They dont know how to behave properly also. Few HR's are good. They will tell you, you may leave :o When it comes to cafeteria food : 1) Utter waste. They will charge full money even if food is almost over or less. They will give you very strange looks if you ask extra spoon of rice. Food cost is 70/- but you can't take little extra rice also :D. 2) Vendors do change based on complaints but again similar vendor comes. 3) If you are thinking why not going outside ? Believe me outside stall is too much far. When it comes to facilities: 1) Cab driver will not wait for more than 1 min, that is written over mail. But you might be thinking its normal and ok. But again twist comes here, 90% of time they wont be on time and you will end up waiting 30-40 mins for cab :). Somethimes cab goes empty because of same reason. 2) You will be very lucky if your seat doesn't fall under ac. Ac temp is too low. You will be freezed. If complaint they will fix for the day. Next day complain again :). This happened with my friend and is still suffering 3) GYM -> only 3-4 instruments. If you just want to lose weight you can try. No trainer. WHEN IT COMES TO WORK 1) if you have habit of working 15-16 hours, its okay. Else you will develop it don't worry. 2) Few managers are good. Few will screw you. I developed backbone pain and specs here. 3) Never dare to ask on-site :) 4) When it comes to rating 4a) for managers : You will have the chance to rate your managers. CHEERS (y). But you cant , as managers will ask to give them 5 rating in a seperate team meeting. This is same throughout BT. And, you will be getting a team outing or lunch or dinner for that 4b) For you : Expect same rating even for more work. Expect question "what extra you have done apart from work ?" -> You wont get chance to do extra work as you wont be able to finish work in deadlne only, even after working in sat, sundays and nights 5) Dont dare to ask shift allowance :D, you may claim food and txprt -> only if you make you manager happy 6) Attrition rate is high bcoz of same reason. 7, 8 , 9.... Its very long. If you want to experiencer join BT :)

Pros

-work from home -good pay (better than any Indian MNC) (but now the average pay is reduced for new joiners) -no in out timings (that goes against you when you get stuck in a project where you r alone to handle it) -Team lunches, dinners (that's it)

Cons

- you tend to get work which is repetitive - since it is repeating manager thinks you can again do it alone (regardless of the size and complexity) - since you did once earlier now it is expected to be done in lesser time - no new learning after a while (after first six months I was aware of all type of possible work I could get) - noone wants to code (everyone wants to delegate the work to juniors) - noone wants to support (if they are assigned support work they will reach to their "friends" and get rid of the work. - people spend months without work even when other guys are literally burning midnight oil for projects. - lot of politics when it comes to resource allocation. - the manager has no idea of what kind of projects team is capable of, in fact he thinks lowly of the team and doesn't trust them because of above reasons, since they showed lack of intent in accepting work earlier, manager also doesn't assign the work properly. If a guy accepts work without cribbing, manager thinks of assigning everything to him without thinking of workload. If the guy complains of workload or stress, he is at fault as he can't manage his work properly. - ppl are in mood to be in call always and keep on discussing same thing again and again. There is no intent of getting the work done, but people get excited about talking the work. -project delivery is planned way before the requirements are even discussed - manager wants to show to his boss that he did something great and in desperate attempts they accept things which are next to impossible, which later are delayed, which again creates bad name for the team. - after a while ppl do not care about work, they are just happy with team lunches and dinners and the salary they are getting with the very little work (calls) they do every day. -it's a culture to wear headphone whole day and do nothing. - people are only sitting there now because they have no capability to do work in any other organization now, or maybe they like to spend their day like this. - it's very comfortable for few people to retire into this kind of job, so they just try to escape real work and try to be leads, call themselves designers. -designers treat developers very lowly sometimes by assigning the work and since every other person is designer, the workload on developer is more most of the time. - the politics is played in every project and even in who gets to travel to UK. -travel to UK is pathetic, as there is no policy for long travel, but some employees who were close to management found a way to get it. -short travel also, company doesn't support employees much, employees must pay visa fee themselves and other arrangements like even flights, these are later reimbursed. - no late night cab facility (not even for women) - the team has no vision what work they should do, and what are the capable of. -HR has no policies defined, they answer after taking actions when they reach that point. They don't know if the resigned employee will recieve salary or not. They don't knw how PF process works, they can't even print a offer letter also correctly in first attempt. Most pathetic HR i ever met, lazy and trying to escape work. Accenture handles all HR queries and they take their own sweet time to answer. BT HR is just to organize onam meals and click pictures.

Pros

1. You will get good pay package if you dare to negotiate more. 2. Yearly increments better than service companies. 3. Lot of challenging work and if you enjoy challenges everyday, this is the company to look for. 4. Highly competent colleagues and work environment.

Cons

1. Pay packages are not uniform. It solely depends on previous pay package and negotiation. 2. Even though challenging work is there, it will not add much to your profile as most of the applications use legacy technologies and the application stack which is been running from more than 10 years is completely out of date. 3. Dumbest appraisal system I have ever seen. Employees get 4 appraisals a year and each time, we get same rating of - Achieved Standards. irrespective of amount of work done. Even if people are working too hard sacrificing their personal life, they get Achieved Standards as this is what company expects from you. It is really difficult to give importance to such appraisal system. 4. Management is more business oriented than technology oriented. Whenever they speak, they will talk about reducing cost, increasing profit, revenue - rather than innovation and technology. 5. So much lateral hiring. Very less chance for promotions within the company.
