Pros

The majority of BTs are dedicated and eager to learn

Cons

This is my worst professional experience to date. No holidays, no PTO, less than average health benefits. I was instructed to use my sick time if I wanted to take time off. Admin time was deleted with no notice, which changed my hours to part time. I had a caseload of 16 and still wasn't at full time hours. There are no morning hours. Management says they try to provide a work/life balance, which is a joke. Upper management constantly makes major changes with no notice or instruction. The day after a film crew was at the office with hired "talent" to play us, we had a mandatory supervisor's meeting at a restaurant, where we passed the bill around the table and everyone had to figure out their dues. I've never worked somewhere that fires more people. BHW sets up supervisors for failure by not providing time to manage their staff.

Dear Glassdoor Reviewer, We are sorry to hear about your experience. We understand that the behavioral health industry is one that has high fluctuation in hours and can be stressful for some. We can assure you that we strive to alleviate this stress by providing manager and staff with proper support throughout all regions. Although our industry is one with flexible hours, our service team is active behind the scenes by making their best effort to provide staff with the hours they desire while still being able to create a balanced personal/work life. It is not an easy task for our Service Department and we apologize that you may have not received all of the hours that you wanted. We always have room for improvement so we greatly appreciate your candid feedback. In regards to our benefits, we provide staff with paid time off after an allotted amount of time. In addition, BHW provides staff with competitive pay and benefits, which are all in accordance with the ACA. Our hope is to not only have BHW grow and to provide more families with the services they desire but also for our staff to grow and prosper with us. We do understand that there is always room for improvement and sincerely thank you for your opinion. We will be taking your review into consideration with the management team. So if you would like to discuss this matter further, please do not hesitate to contact us at improvements@bhwcares.com.

Pros

Work with great families. Fast hire. Paid training.

Cons

I have worked her for over a month and so far it gets worse and worse each day. For my first assignment I was given a client whose needs exceeded my experience level. Then in order to render your time sheets you need certain code in order to get paid and my codes were not given to me. When I tried to contact someone to help either no on could help me because they did not have the authorization or they did not reply. This happened for 4 weeks in a row which messed up my check. Then this week the codes had expired. I went through the chain of commands and again no one helped or could not help. I will not be paid for an entire week because of this issue. I even contacted HR about this issue and have yet to receive a response.

In regards to your first client, being an ABA therapist can be a challenging task and because of this we provide our staff with extensive training and support. If you feel that you have been matched with a client that you are not capable to work with, we urge you to speak to your superior regarding the match up. We want our clients to receive the best services possible and our staff to feel comfortable with their caseloads. Pros

Wonderful families Progress in kids Helpful Supervisors

Cons

BHW has clear intentions of making a difference within the autism community, but fails to do so. BHW contains many flaws, resulting in a popular trend, current employees leave meanwhile others easily get hired. Here are areas of improvement for BHW : *Poor training. Fill in the blank pages from a binder while watching videos at home. 2 overlaps with experienced therapists. Once on the field, parents sense inexperience and get frustrated. *Upon hire, difficult to obtain hours. *Terrible communication. If staff needs assistance with insurance codes or other work related topics it is difficult to get answers. Staff in office are always socializing, eating, walking around the building. *Sending BT's to unsafe areas with no parking. Sometimes parents cannot find parking themselves. I have had to leave my car in shopping centers then walk to my client's house. * If staff experiences vehicle vandalism, towing, or tickets of any sort, BHW makes sure they are not held responsible even though you are carrying out THEIR services. Do not care if your car insurance goes up. *Extremely cheap toys for kids. *Client cancelations results in not getting paid that day. *BHW/ therapist positon will not keep you financially stable. *Lack of professionalism. Young lady in scheduling hung up on me when I called in to cancel some sessions due to family emergency. *Long Drives. Only get paid going client to client not from your house to a clients house.

Dear Glassdoor Reviewer, We regret to hear about your experience here at BHW. We provide our staff with the best possible working conditions and assist them to foster their growth. Due to the dedication to our families and the quality of care we strive to provide our employees, we make a dedicated effort to equip and train our employees with thorough and well-researched training materials. But we are aware that training can be a bit lengthy but it is necessary to prepare our staff for their positions. Our general BHW training consists, but is not limited to: video modules, written articles, role-playing, and interactive group activities. In addition, we provide clinical staff with "Early Start Denver Model" training to model how sessions with clients 3 yrs and younger should be conducted since their development and activity levels differ from older children. We also provide our clinical staff with Parent Consultation training so our new hires may gain exposure to what their job may entail as they advance to becoming Lead and Senior Behavioral Therapists. In addition, anytime a new hire or existing employee is assigned a new client, another staff member will overlap and be present for that first session to provide support and foster a smooth transition into the case. Our training helps future employees feel confident in what they are advocating for and becoming a supportive resource for our parents. BHW believes in offering services in a home-based environment since a natural surrounding positively impacts the success of the programs we implement. Every home and parking situation is unique, therefore, our Service team is always a resource that can be used by our staff in the event that parking becomes an issue. In such case, employees are encouraged to contact regional service department who will work with the family and employee to ensure there is a reasonable parking location available. As for work hours, our Talent Acquisition department provides potential BHW employees with an estimated number of hours and cases they will be assigned to so that we don’t disillusion them with unrealistic expectations. However, it is expected in this industry that hours will fluctuate based on various factors that are out of our control. Even so, our Service department continuously works diligently to staff employees with the hours they desire. Lastly, regarding toys and resources, BHW encourages employees to use the supplies and toys provided by the company. Employees can swap toys if they feel they do not provide their clients with the best session possible. However, please keep in mind that these toys/items are to reinforce ABA skills. Families may not be in a position to purchase new toys in their everyday life, therefore, we must use toys and items in the client’s natural environment to gain the most success with program implementation. We realize that there is always room for improvement so we greatly appreciate your feedback and we will be taking your review into serious consideration. If you have any further questions or concerns regarding our company and/or policies please feel free to contact us at improvements@behavioralhealthworks.com.
