What else can be said? Probably more :-( The other reviews provide a good summary of their experiences.
“Cratering Bro Culture Company Dominated by Ego, Chaos and Terrible Decision Making, Regretful Experience, Questionable… company… product… leadership, It was just OK, CEO is a liar and has zero empathy at this soulless company - RUN if asked to work here!, A ding in our universe
, The Fyre Festival of RegTech,Run Run Run, One of the worst places I've worked for, Egotistical leadership and a subpar product, Toxic Work Environment, Don’t be fooled, run… and many others
You will also notice quite a few 5-star ratings and you will see two things 1) they are short and 2) some are grouped around particular months — these were written at the request of management to help offset the actual and factual reviews that brought down their rating
How does HR respond to these?
1. Try to discredit by saying emotional and “factually unfounded”. First, of course there is a of emotion in these, all employees are humans and should be treated as such. Unfortunately, people are NOT treated with respect here and this consistently demonstrated over and over.
2. Behavox says, we have “HR systems in place for all our employees” - they have HR software like every other company.
3. Full USA Benefits- this is true, and not bad! Though not as robust as larger organizations.
4. 30 Days of vacation - this is average. Most companies offer unlimited vacation.
5. Contracts: “To date the company hasn’t breached a single contract” - US and most employees DO NOT have contracts, they are AT WILL employees, meaning, Behavox can let you go for ANY reason, at ANY time!
6. Stock: Some employees do have stock - but, this needs to be clarified. You are NOT granted a set # of shares or % ownership like in MOST other companies! They tie stock to some goals that have to be met. Almost all other companies, will provide you stock and want you to share in their success
7. Lots of talk about the Talent Acquisition process! What about employee success, retention, and everything after the fact. Oh, they can hire a lot of people and they do - as a lot are also leaving!
8. “We appreciate all reviews and comments (both the positive and the negative) and we know that our highly committed work culture isn’t for everyone, but we are a company with a very direct and inspired leader that is pushing at the limits of what both technology, and people, can do...and we actively embrace that.” Let me rephrase, we are not inclusive, nor empathetic. Yes, the CEO is direct, that he is - but not in the good way. Sometimes it is better to be considerate and kind! He does push everyone’s limits - actually pushes you beyond your limit! If the CEO were truly great, everyone would know his name and the company would be wildly successful.
9. Awards: Look closely at the awards they mention, most are awarded because they submitted an application for the award - “Forbes Fintech 50 and CB Insights AI 100 List of Most Innovative Artificial Intelligence Startups. Behavox was also honored with the Best Use of AI for Voice Biometrics Award from AI Breakthrough” - where are the name brand awards for best company to work for, companies that are best for minorities, companies that are best for women, companies that donate/give the most…. you will not find these bestowed upon Behavox!
If you are going to ignore all the actual and factual reviews, you need to do this
1. INSIST on 12 months of severance - there is a significant chance you will be let go. This is a MUST!
2. Stock: Ask Behavox to show you the Cap tables to show much ownership you actually have - you will be surprised how little it is.
3. Ask about employee turnover - not just voluntary, but involuntary as well
4. Revenue and Customer Churn: Ask to see the revenue performance for the past few years, as well as, how many customers have left.
