Pros
The contractor I've worked for (household goods) has been a great boss, and the job has helped me get my CDL and some valuable customer service experience.
Cons
The front office seems perpetually overwhelmed. There are a lot of instances of communication break down between the customer, the office, and the contractor and crew who go out to complete a move. Sometimes there are discrepancies regarding major aspect of the move (amount of stuff, timing or location of load and/or delivery). Other times there are items that require 3rd party service and there is no 3rd party set up to service the items. Sometimes we arrive to find customers who weren't expecting our arrival because nobody called them to confirm a time. These were not mistakes that happened every once in awhile; they happened regularly, and it seems that they could have been easily avoided by emphasizing attention to detail and good communication with customers and crew.
