Un/underpaid Commissions & Procedural Mismanagement
Pros
The company has relaxed procedures and at times can feel like a family setting thanks to the co-owner. They have a reciprocal business network which uniquely ties into the insurance products and services offered. At one time this was a wonderful place to obtain industry knowledge.
Cons
Commissions do not get paid on time or at all since KPIs are muddied by the performance of prior AMs due to high turnover. There is in-fighting with management and you will see pressure to work beyond the job title to appease the owner who has unreasonable expectations. The lack of procedure and accountability unfairly compensates dishonest agents who can fudge the metrics by allowing duplicate policies to pad their renewal stats and by not recording cancels properly in the CRM.
