Unprofessional and hostile work environment
Pros
The only pro for this company is that the volume of work in medical writing is so high, that it makes you almost mechanically skilled at medical writing and reviewing which hones your skill
Cons
The cons to this company are numerous: 1. False assurance of growth in company- they will offer you a junior position with a promise of a promotion within six months, which mostly gets stopped by unprofessional, prejudiced and borderline emotionally abusive group heads without any support. 2. Group lead- God bless you if you find a good group lead. The current group lead has been working in this company for ten years in almost the same position, and is only concerned about following protocol on petty things such as file naming instead of providing guidance and support to her subordinates. Not only is her approach discouraging, she humiliates people who don't Lick her bottom and agree with her or keep silent. 3. There is no consideration for time off in cases of personal emergency unless you apply for the same a week ago. That can also get disapproved based on the group leads mood 4. Minimal to nil interaction and support from other teams and colleagues. The ones at the top are old, power hungry and just plain tyrannous. 5. Unfair expectations of employee spending their own money to return office items in wfh cases.
