Pros

Great work/life balance. Management really cares about their employees. Decent pay.

Cons

Departments don't interact a whole lot. If you don't like the people on your team you aren't going to be happy.

Pros

I left in 2012 so I won't pretend to know much about the current state of the company or its culture, but when I worked there it was a fantastic place. The people, many of which have gone on to other opportunities, were generous with their time and talent. Ray Barrett was a tremendous mentor. Senior Management in Tim Barrett, Kevin Klingler and KLN, challenged me but also gave me a lot of leeway to try new things, which usually worked - though some did not. When they didn't it was a learning experience for everyone and not a black mark. The Business Development group were always responsive to my needs and questions. Pierre, Olivier and Stephen in Brussels to Dave, John, Kimberly, Jackie, Todd and many others in the US were very dedicated to their profession and always looked out for the customer. Operations were always helpful when I needed information, Scott Burcham in Pulmonary, Beth Gregory in Echo and Susan Camfield in CVS. The Scientific Affairs team - Dr. Tim Callahan and Dr. Pierre Maison-Blanche - were the best in the business. They are extremely talented and taught me so much about the cardiac safety and clinical trials. I have heard nothing but good things about Dr. Pierro but did not have the pleasure of working with him. My biggest thanks go to my team - Kristy and Traci. They were outstanding co-workers and better people. I think we did a lot of good things as a group.

Cons

Again, its been a while since I was there so I don't have anything relevant to comment here that would be useful to the reader.

Pros

I had to speak up as well after reading some of the fake reviews, especially (April 2016), that were obviously planted by HR. I resisted writing a review for a long time because I was in a much better place, and I didn't want to spend any more time or thought on BMS. I didn't want to think about nastiness that is BMS. I am writing now to my friends still at BMS and to those contemplating working at BMS and to finally get the poison from BMS out of my system once and for all.

Cons

The posts are true: Low Pay, Low Moral, Non Existent Training, Ignorant Management, Unethical Behavior, Nepotism, Favoritism, Discrimination, etc. The list will keep growing as long as the company is in existence. This company is stuck in the past, when they thought they were great. They do not want to change, and have made it very clear they won't. They know all about the terrible things that are happening AND THEY DON'T CARE. BMS likes the way the company is now. They are perfectly happy with the company because none of the above issues affect them. Low pay just means more money for them and since they never leave the third floor they could care less about how happy you are at your job. They directly benefit from nepotism and favoritism. Why should they care if there isn’t a training program? They don’t have to continuously train new employees because the good ones are gone. They will continue to make their money walking on the bloody backs of their employees until they sell the company and ride off into the West County sunset.

Pros

I found this to be a great company that offered many opportunities. It was a fast paced job, but the flexible schedule was advantageous and I feel I earned a reasonable salary. Upper management was extremely supportive and the executive team was very receptive to employee ideas for change and improvement. I've rarely worked in a more supportive environment than the one within this company. This includes all areas of BMS (executive team, HR, middle management).

Cons

A lot of job responsibilities, but doable.

Pros

My co-workers were great, despite being mistreated. There may have been disgruntled feelings towards management, but we worked as a team despite the low moral because at the end of the day, we didn't do it for the company, we did it for the steady job and the jobs of our friends. Work/Life balance was flexible, but I think that's how they are able to retain most of their long-term employees. I was able to go back to school; I saw that others were able to accommodate family more than they would be able to elsewhere.

Cons

Lied to by HR, and probably management regarding salary expectations. Good work gets rewarded with more work requiring longer hours (for salary employees). Instead of being congratulated on completing an advanced degree, I was just told by management that I shouldn't expect my pay to reflect the accomplishment. This is a small company so there isn't much room for advancement beyond a senior position, which just entitles them to keep you there until all hours. I was told by others, BMS was known as a platform company: someplace you go to get the title (because it wasn't reflected in the pay) and the experience to go somewhere else. This is exactly what was done here because there are no incentives to do a good job or maintain company loyalty. So you either have poorly trained new people, or employees only in it for the stable paycheck. The company is family owned by three brothers, but from what I've heard the family feeling was gone before I got there. I think I saw all three over the time of my extended employment, but couldn't tell you which one was which. Face time with anyone above your boss was reserved for situations you didn't want to be in anyway. So I'm not sure anyone outside of our office space even knew my name when I left.
