Pros

None that I can think about to be honest. The product works fine and users + buyers like it.

Cons

Management is out of touch in many aspects. Culture is toxic. Finger pointing, public shaming, yelling. No one needs to be in an environment like that. No support to new hires or long standing employees out of the very minimal. No processes in place, no structure (and a strong hostility coming from management to put in place new processes that they don't like). You might hear words like 'biotronics family' that feel like 'we're in this together' but those are just words that are never translated in any support for anyone. No view on what';s coming up. The product roadmap is non existent, the work is organised project by project. CEO and CTO are the only depositaries of the direction and roadmap and they fail to communicate it (probably because there is none, it's all based on reaction to customer threats). Salaries a low. Work hours are long. Upper management has a culture of only speaking/listening to a handful of people that they deem adequate.

A company run by senior management cowboys

Pros

Nothing applicable to the pros of this company

Cons

During my time at Biotronics, I found that the management team consistently failed to provide the necessary support, guidance, and leadership for employees to succeed. The lack of direction from upper management left teams scrambling and often working in silos, with no cohesive strategy or clear communication of goals. Decisions were made without consideration for the long-term impact on employees or the business. There was little to no transparency in decision-making, which led to confusion, frustration, and a lack of trust among staff. Furthermore, feedback and suggestions from employees were often ignored or dismissed, making it difficult to feel valued or heard. In addition, the management team displayed a lack of accountability for their actions. When issues arose, the focus was always on blaming employees or external factors rather than addressing any structural or leadership-related problems. This toxic work environment hindered morale and made it challenging to stay motivated. Ultimately, the absence of effective management contributed to high turnover, decreased productivity, and a general sense of disorganisation within the company.

Pros

Great annual leave (28 days, going up to 30 days with length of service) Private healthcare available. Remote working available for certain roles.

Cons

No transparency from upper management - All Hands always cancelled or moved without explanation Mass redundancies happening every couple of months. Financially not doing well. Roadmap has changed with every senior leadership team changes. Swayed heavily by investors. People are stretched with workload. No room for progression
