Pros

Breaks are timed perfectly, Keeps you busy all day, if you work on the line work load is shared, repetition of procedures so mistakes can be minimal, Great 401k and profit sharing, optional medical benefits are worth it if you have families or go to doctors often.

Cons

I’ll start by saying not so much as cons but what a typical industrial worker would view a con of the company to be. Supervisors will be blunt and get on you if you make mistakes or if you aren’t contributing to the build. You may see others in different departments that have the extra second to cut-up with others while they search for components located in other departments don’t get upset your doing what you were hired for and if you don’t like the job ask for a transfer it can happen if it doesn’t go through stick out the task you have. Or look for new employment. It is labor intensive or mind boggling to start with the task is basically the same with different products nuts and bolts may be different size but it’s more or less in some. Learn the task and master that to start. Then develop steps to speed the task at hand even if the person who taught you showed differently you may find it easier to do different steps at different times as long the results are error free and actually complete. Actually be respectful last I checked your the only shift so clean your tools and work space clients do walk throughs to see the products being hand built and you should show them I care about myself and where my money is made so please keep spending yours. If you work in the pressure vessels plant pay attention do your job check and double check it’s dangerous and things can change to “oh no” in minutes do the right thing before it’s to late and people get injured or possibly die. Go the extra mile to perfect your craft and showcase your skills with a product to prove it. Doing those things in the pv plant will bring in the $1.50-$3 raise you dream about. Don’t horseplay there’s a time and place for everything. And yes there are supervisors but if someone’s not doing there part encourage them to assist you pass on skills and tips to help your day go smoother and if they continue their work ethic they will be replaced just cause no ones around doesn’t mean someone isn’t watching and that is to be taken in every and any aspect.
