Pros
Like that I got to work on a lot of different projects. Flex hours and schedule that varied from week to week. Like everyone these days, worked remotely.
Cons
No real cons, just wish could have done more and stayed longer.
Pros
Did basic marketing and some research. Worked a flexible schedule and had deadlines. Nice chance to learn and practice my skills like writing stories and social media posts. Worked there 6 months and took a full time job.
Cons
None really. Didn't like to drive when I went in, but worked remotely so it was mostly ok.
Pros
Paid sick days, flexible hours/can work from home if needed, was able to pursue my own passions in spare time.
Cons
The guy who runs this company is delusional, passive-aggressive, unprofessional, and exploitative. He makes it sound very enticing at first--minimal/flexible hours to start, decent pay rate, and fairly easy work. However, we were all asked to do a ton of work (unpaid) on our own time. The office is in an old warehouse, which is usually either freezing or too hot to work, depending on the season. We receive no benefits of any kind, and while the pay rate sounds good at first, after tax it's almost nothing. I eventually found out that he had been severely underpaying my coworker who had been there the longest (and was the only one of us with a child to support.) This guy is generally incompetent--he makes us write our articles and tweets in a bizarre writing style. The website looks awful, and was a big red flag, but I was desperate for work. I have heard him call female clients and colleagues the 'b word' on multiple occasions. He has no respect for anyone's boundaries or personal space. He belittles our work and undermines us constantly, walking us through the simplest of tasks in a condescending way. Extremely passive aggressive. He makes us afraid to go into work, talk to him, and generally creates a very toxic work environment. Spends money in the wrong places and has delusions of grandeur. We went on a business trip for three days and he offered us "comp time," not payment, despite us being paid hourly, not salaried. When I disputed and asked that we be paid, he was passive aggressive before he finally agreed. You will work (in some capacity) on every holiday, and weekend, and you will have to spend your holiday tweeting about plates. So, no matter how nice he makes it sound, don't work here.
