Empty Promises and Out of Touch

Pros

The dogs and operations level people.

Cons

Worked for over a year for the company and watched it go extremely negative. The executives and directors constantly make promises with zero follow through and proceed to continually push out deadlines on these decisions. They also urge for transparency and honesty, but then if any employees reach out they are retaliated against by their managers and directors. This is often accompanied by their prize winning slogan, "Be happy or get out", while failing to ask why their employees might be upset or what they need. Their concerns are only for their income and internet personas. If you served in the military you would recognize working at the company as being a toxic leadership cess pool with a zero vote of confidence in their ability to make decisions for your own well being. Their pay and benefits for the positions they put you in are equally as abyssal as the culture. Employees quickly realized they make up to a third of what their peers make for similar positions in other companies, which given how much BRCC generates and for their number of employees is laughable. While executives buy new houses and toys that they flaunt on social media and amongst those within the company, their employees must withdraw from retirement accounts or ask for pay advances to cover their bills. It's painful and tragic to watch and especially given how little recognition employees get for their sacrifices. To anyone looking at this company for a job opportunity, it's in your best interest to look elsewhere. Working at BRCC is thankless, draining, logic defying, and harmful to your overall health. It's deeply ironic that a company espousing the military values can only recreate the worst parts about the service.

Not worth all the hype

Pros

Dog friendly, unlimited coffee, laid back

Cons

Pay. I took this job because the pay was equal to my previous job. Within months they lowered my pay by $3/hr and told me it was because they hired me as a temp. Would have been nice to know upfront, especially with how much the company is growing. How hard is it to compensate your employees who work hard everyday? They claim that they hire veterans and veterans first. I can't tell you how many vets I've seen let go and replaced with temps in my time here. Some of the upper management are awesome however don't expect the CEO to give you the time of day. Evan Hafer is not friendly at all. The majority of the leadership here has no idea what they are doing and have ridiculous expectations for their employees. There is a huge divide between people who work up front in the main offices and people in production, roasting, fulfillment, etc.

Pros

Good coffee, donates a small portion of profits to veterans

Cons

The company bases their image on hiring veterans and giving back to the community. In my experience, that is not the case. The executive staff is more concerned on their self image and social media influencer status than paying their team members a living wage. Little opportunity for growth, no planned wage increases, and horrible health insurance that requires full time status to qualify for. The company culture is inundated with a bro vet image with only true progression and opportunities afforded to you if you are a fanboy or are great at lavishing praise. If you are looking for a tribe or a team that genuinely cares about you as a person, look elsewhere. It is not here. I wish they would practice what they preach and followed through with what they say but that is not the case. Do something meaningful elsewhere and do not waste any time getting roped into their nonsense. Very toxic to women, company culture is full of fake male bravado that encourages objectification of women
