Friendly co-workers in an otherwise unhealthy environment
Pros
1. Most of my co-workers were friendly and I became friends with several people in my department 2. Scheduling was flexible - I could work around my classes and I never had an issue when I needed to take off due to illness
Cons
1. Hostile management - for example, as a new employee, I made minor mistakes due to limited training, so they punished me by moving me to an isolated station (hard drives) for several days, and I had to "earn" my way back into the department I was hired for (Config) 2. Gender segregated departments - certain departments like Config were exclusively male and others like Cleaning were mostly female 3. Poor safety standards - for example, when I worked in SysPrep, we had to use a dust blowing machine, but we were not provided earplugs, eye goggles, and dust masks (the machine is extremely loud and blows dust in your face) 4. Anti-labor - in the employee handbook it was stated that we could not discuss our wages with co-workers - this is illegal. Unsurprisingly I found out I was being paid $2 below the base rate of $12/hr for my positio 5. Numbers, not people - in Config, we were expected to hit a quota of 80 computers per day and they displayed hourly metrics on our laptops to compare your progress to others. They eventually moved this dashboard onto a large TV for everyone in the building to see. This quota was frankly unrealistic on most days and it encouraged many people to skip out on their two 10-minute breaks and hour-long lunches
