Toxic culture.

Pros

- the people were great

Cons

- the managing director (poor leadership) - lack of flexibility - Toxic culture - The Sydney team mostly consisted of the MDs close friends, it was sometimes hard to get wins in that environment. You weren't trusted or respected for the quality of your work or output. If the managing director wasn't able to physically see you in the office he'd make an issue out of it. -Poor commercial decision making.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. It is unfortunate to hear that you have had a different experience with Blueberry Markets when compared to the rest of the team. It will be great to learn more about your experience. If you have a moment, feel free to reach out to the People and Culture function by emailing hr@bbtalent.com

Pros

There were some great people to work with Good place to learn what not to do with culture

Cons

If you are not part of the MD's inner circle of friends, you will be treated like a slave. MD has a mentality that you should be working 24 hours of your day for the business. Will call or text on weekends or when on Annual Leave to discuss work-related things. Understand it's a start/scale-up, but there was an underlying disrespect for employees' personal time outside of business hours. And if you do happen to do the tasks, or answer the call during your personal time. Do not expect any gratitude, as you will be setting a tone with the MD. And this will be exactly what they will expect every time to which it will be exploited to the fullest. If you like to be worked to the bone, have no direction from exec leaders, and feel excluded and isolated... This is the place for you
