Pros

There are a lot of skills to be gained and a lot that you can learn. You will do a lot of things vital to the PR world (press releases, pitches, etc.)

Cons

This company will take advantage of you. They will pay you dirt, meanwhile being emotionally abusive and expecting you to work 50+ hour weeks.

Pros

Have some training meetings set up but none of them really benefit the employee or intern as much as it benefits the company.

Cons

Upper management expects you to do the grunt work of every job (update media lists is an ongoing on thing they stick on you when they have nothing to give you), creating photoshop clips. Never really felt like I was being trained for the PR world. Upper management also keeps you out of ALL important issues that affect every employee. CEO is really detached from all work, doesn't understand what staff has to actually do. Also takes advantage of her CEO position. Has you do really menial tasks that she could do herself. Very disrespectful to offer minimum wage to hard working individuals with degrees and expect them to work 45+ hours a week.

Decent first job, but poor management

Pros

Because it's a boutique agency, you're able to take on more responsibilities.

Cons

The down side is management expects you to pick up additional slack. Very rarely do they recognize your efforts or provide raises/promotions. Also, the CEO does not listen to or respect the opinions of the staff and will make decisions that affect the entire company WITHOUT communicating with its employees.
