Pros

Bombas has historically been an amazing place to work, ranking consistently in the top 100 places to work. The benefits are great and they find ways to get everyone involved!

Cons

I had three different black managers leave Bombas because of gaslightlighting and microaggressions, and they dont have many black employees to begin with. This behavior is pretty common in the legacy employees who have been in Bombas for 7+ years. Bombas also changed a lot during the pandemic. Prior to that, the company was amazing but things slowly changed and the company left its start up roots to pursue more of a corporate ladder climbing culture. There are people in the ELT that really have no clue what they're doing, primarily on the brand/creative side. These people got the job due to clear nepotism (e.g. their qualifications include them going to summer camp with the founder in the northeast, not joking). I'd also be wary of the marketing team as they operate like an agency. Long hours, weekend meetings, and constantly changes to the spend forecast or campaign strategy. It's very exhausting.

Pros

the free samples and discounts are fun, the ability to work for a brand that genuinely lives and breathes its mission isn't to be taken for granted.

Cons

company has no leadership outside of the ceo, no strategic vision, no direction and no plans for growth. the days of dtc companies having no expanded distribution or robust product roadmap are over. company cares more about its mission of doing good (which to be 100% transparent is admirable and important) than nailing the fundamentals culture is all smoke and mirrors. if you are not a chosen favorite amongst the legacy employees, good luck fitting in or even thinking of advancing (not that there is any career mapping or anything of the sort). distribution of roles and responsibilities and prioritization of functional areas makes no sense and is not indicative of a legitimate organization. to be blunt, there is more headcount dedicated to fluff roles, not core operational or revenue driving roles. there have been some glaring fundamental areas to address in improving the business and no one either wants to or care to address them. the revolving door of leaders isn't an accident and the advent and departure of leaders from under armour cannot fix the fundamental problems with this company. salary is far below market value and equity is next to worthless given an exit isn't likely. for a company that purports itself on an amazing culture, it somewhat falls flat when you sift out the surface level perks. company cares more about winning awards than cultivating actual talent.
