There was lots of favoritism in the department and most higher ups or managers literally based their opinions or reviews on what their favorite employee had to say. They pretend to listen but already have their minds made. If there was a conflict in the department there wasn't much fact checking done to solidify the claim. People were even let go or penalized/reprimanded just based on the word of another employee without discussion, reconciliation or proof. It was much like working in a high school where the popular kids were also the teachers grading you.
