"PB successfully managed to reverse the great Borderfree up swing"

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookI worked at Borderfree
Pros
If you count clueless management who can let you get away with anything as a "pro", well ok that's one "Pro" I can think of.
Cons
Since PBs takeover of the company, it has managed to totally and utterly destroy the great growth Borderfree was seeing over its short life span. Joined the company back when it was FiftyOne and Borderfree really had a great potential and was a leader in its space by a wide margin but PB squandered it away and also managed to alienate all the top talent. What now remains is clueless PB people who do not understand, technology, ecommerce or management for that matter.

Pros
Exciting company with a work environment that offers challenges and opportunities. Caliber of most co-workers is top notch. Decent work-life balance across most job functions. Making strides to create a culture more responsive to employee career development.
Cons
Lacking inspirational leadership. Executive team communicates poorly with the company, which leads to poor communication between business units. Goals of business units not well aligned with an overall goal.

Pros
Borderfree is a market leader with a large client list. The company is filled with smart, hard-working people. It's still relatively small and you can make a big impact in your role.
Cons
The company is growing fast and experiences growing pains, but they are taking the right steps to ease this.

Pros
Company is growing and has a bright future. You are surrounded by high performing people who serve as unofficial mentors. Mike is a driven CEO who has a definite vision and this makes you want to work hard to achieve it.
Cons
Common thread is that what is in the job description is not what the actual job is. Quite a bit of your daily tasks fall under "Under duties as assigned." The work/life balance is off. The lack of non-management personnel puts the full weight on the faithful few so you can never really detach from work. The org chart looks like a lollipop. There are way too many Directors, VPs, SVPs and EVP. The only people who benefit from this are the people leaving the company. This sets them up for higher pay and position but they are not prepared for the new roles.

"A great place for software engineers (at least in the R&D department)"

RecommendsPositive OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at Borderfree full-time for more than a year
Pros
Great co-workers in fantastic teams. Compensation is competitive (read very good) and benefits are mediocre, but getting there slowly (in the past few months they've added more benefits and pluses). Management in the R&D department is very straightforward and highly transparent about plans and specs. The entire R&D department is broken up into teams with very fun names (chosen by the team members). Each team consists of a lead engineer, a QA engineer and 2 or 3 software engineers. Promotions are done on a yearly basis: you set goals at the beginning of the year and at the end of the year, you meet with your manager to discuss whether you've met those goals or not. After that, you are possibly granted raises, bonuses, etc. Overall, everyone is very friendly. There's a kitchen on each floor, and leadership is very friendly (to the point where upper management knows most employees on a first name basis).
Cons
The company feels a bit top heavy at times.

Pros
Salary is decent, management is flexible, company hosts quarterly fun events for employees, birthday / holiday treats, random other perks (e.g. free in-house massage, flu shots etc.).
Cons
Work can sometimes be unorganized, with teams not willing to collaborate to resolve a problem, unwilling to take up "somebody else's responsibility", where in fact everyone should work toward the same goal.

Cons
You can't really see if there is room for growth. It is not a place you get pushed forward. You have to make your own luck
