Pros

What stands out the most, and indeed the best part of being a part of this organization, is the unwavering commitment to the community. It's truly heartwarming to see that every member of the Branches team genuinely cares about the community's well-being and is passionate about helping it thrive. Among the various departments within Branches, the Financial Coaching Department under the leadership of the current VP of the department has been nothing short of exceptional. The VP is not just a manager but an amazing leader who consistently looks out for the well-being and growth of every team member. Under her guidance, the Financial Coaching Department had an incredible transformation. It started as a small team with minimal recognition, and thanks to her visionary leadership, it has flourished. Her efforts have brought local and even national visibility to Branches, a feat that has not only elevated the organization but has also created opportunities for many to advance in their careers. One of the most remarkable aspects of the Financial Coaching Department is the vast scope for personal and professional growth it offers. This department is one of the only departments that truly exemplifies the spirit of Branches lo and the commitment to helping both the community and its employees succeed.

Cons

CEO's management style, which has been a source of stress for some staff over the years. One of the most challenging aspects is the CEO's limited contact with a significant portion of the staff. It's noticeable that he primarily engages with his favorites, which can create a sense of exclusion for those who don't have the same level of access. Furthermore, there's a notable gap in the CEO's and some senior leadership’s understanding of the daily work within each department. This lack of insight can impact decision-making and hinder ability to provide meaningful guidance for improvement. Additionally, the reported salary discrepancies between men and women in the similar positions need attention. Ensuring equal pay for equal work is not just a moral imperative but also a legal requirement in many places.

Pros

Mission of organization is to help low income families. Great purpose if you can get behind it.

Cons

Leadership is not good, poor communication from directors down; managers don't know how to manage well and good people leave. Salaries are not good. Yes, this is non-profit, but they don't seem to understand that to make ends meet in Miami you have to be paid sufficiently. Plus, many times the expectation is to work late/long hours during the majority of the year.
